The other day I was doing some research and as I was digging around, I got sidetracked and followed up on Jason Momoa. (Joseph Jason Namakaeha Momoa)
He started modeling in 1998 and won Hawaii’s Model of the Year in 1999. Gotta wonder if that was an all female voting panel.
Did you know that Jason had to get his dreadlocks cut off after season 4 of Atlantis? They were giving him headaches and whiplash! He used a wig thereafter.
Can he ever get away from that character name of Ronon? I only ask that because in subsequent work that he’s done since Stargate, he’s played a character called Roman. OK, it’s not Ronon, but it’s dang close. He played Roman for 4 episodes in a show called The Game.
What I found most interesting was his last entry of work over on IMDB: Stargate: Extinction. (Is that where Stargate Universe is headed? Just jokin’.) I have to wonder if this wasn’t one of the movies that might be put on hold. The cast is that from Stargate Atlantis, so for the moment, I’d have to assume so.
Well, now you know.
Updated June 2010: I guess I should have updated this post, but Jason Momoa has been cast in a few things. He’s nabbed the role of Conan the Barbarian.
