Fox’s American Idol pulled in 24 million votes for this week’s elimination round and who did they send home? American Idol Results: Alex Lambert, Joe Munoz, Janell Wheeler & Ashley Rodriguez were sent packing.
I doubt it was anyone’s fault as to why they went home… sort of, but the songs they pick for the Idols to sing really make it hard pressed to vote for the singing and instead, make it a pure popularity contest by what? Looks, personality, judges commentary? Some of these folks don’t stand a chance since we’ve not seen that much of them, but it is what it is.
I’m glad this week is over, but I’m losing my interest in American Idol. It’s getting old and I’m not moved by anyone’s singing this year. Knowing that Simon is singing off, Ellen DeGeneres is not holding any validity with me as a musical judge, the show is losing it’s appeal to this household. Things may change, but there ya have it for the moment. Maybe next week I’ll be in an uptick of my mood swing and watch American Idol again! Who knows.
