Of the new movies coming out in the movie theater today, it looks like there are great collected reviews for Contagion and Warrior. If you’re on the fence about either movie that you’re thinking about seeing, there’s a little bit of help out there for you.
Contagion has a huge name cast, with Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Laurence Fishburne, Jude Law, Marion Cotillard and few more, about the age-old battle between the CDC and an out of control virus.
Warrior stars a more focused cast of Tom Hardy, Nick Nolte & Joel Edgerton in a movie about a family in the mixed martial arts fighting world, where we see two brothers end up facing off against each other.
Both movies sound good but for me, if I hit up a new movie this week, it will probably be Contagion.
If you’re interested, I have movie clips for both.

According to Movie Review Intelligence website:
Warrior has 71% positive reviews and Contagion, 68%. The smaller films seeing national release are Creature 40%, and Bucky Larson, 23%. As far as I’m concerned, 23% seems too high for that one.
For Warrior, we’re seeing things like not gratuitously violent; touching; gritty drama… everybody wins.
For Contagion, you get some confusion in words amongst the good ratings… A-list stars disrupts the tone; docudrama style; the setup is impossibly compelling. A lot of the reviews touch on their awareness of the simple things we do in life and how they can see how germs are spread. LOL.
Box Office Mojo is predicting that Contagion will beat the competition at the box office because of its similarity to a past hit, Outbreak. We all love the dramatic, dark doomsday like movies!

The two top movies see the same ranking over at Rotten Tomatoes… Warrior (84%); Contagion (81%).
Metacritic, the same… 72% for Warrior and 69% for Contagion.
I guess it would all depend on what you like… fight movies or watching civilization crumble under the weight of a huge viral infection!
