Amy Acker on Common Law

Amy Acker, a favorite from the core of Joss Whedon actors who have graced a few of his shows, has landed a role on the USA network police “dramedy”called Common Law.  In Common Law, Ms. Acker has landed the only female regular role in the show.

Common Law stars Michael Ealy and Warren Kole in this show about two Los Angeles cops where one is methodical and the other, a bit of a maverick.  They can’t stand each other and their Captain sends them to couples therapy to get their act straight.

It sounds sort like The Odd Couple with guns, but that’s OK by me.

It’s written by Cormac & Marianne Wibberley, who both have experience with witty and cops  as their resumes include The 6th Day, Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, Bad Boys II and the National Treasure movies.  This looks like their first television production.

If you missed it, Amy Acker has passed through ABC’s Happy Town & No Ordinary Family.  And if it ever makes it to the screen, you will also be able to catch her in Joss Whedon / Drew Goddard’s The Cabin in the Woods.  (I have to tell ya, from what I have been told about Cabin, it should be a great mind bending monster movie.)
