When Do You Check Facebook or Twitter? [Consumer]

The other day I cam across in interesting survey article in the Business section of the San Francisco Chronicle.

It was saying that the hi tech world is taking its toll on people’s attention spans and relationships.  The extra concern is that with the advent smart phones, it is getting exacerbated.

As a society, we already seem to want things faster than they actually come out these days.  I’ve seen it in how media consumers do what they can to snag movies without having to pay for them or eat up pirated projects before they hit the mainstream.

Here’s some interesting stats from the printed article after the page break.

The numbers represent 35 and younger survey takers:

When do you check Facebook or Twitter:

  • 35% – After sex. (Damn people, was it that memorable?)
  • 34% – On a date.  (Someone once checked their voicemail on a date with me.  They found they needed a cab to get home.  LOL.)
  • 40% – When driving.  (Sounds like a dumbass idea to me.  It ain’t that important people.)
  • 64% – At work.
  • 65% – On vacation.
  • 20% – Ended relationships because their other half spent too much time on their mobile device.  (Now they had more time for it.)

Interesting stats folks.
