Back on October 14th, many of us were surprised to see that Mia Michaels left So You Think You Can Dance. (SYTYCD) She had been a modern dance mainstay with the show, from day 1, for 5 years.

Her Twitter, Facebook and other websites were terse and did not offer up any clues as to why she left, leaving us wondering. In the mean time Nigel kept pointing to an empty seat with Paula Abdul’s name printed on the back… saying they have an open chair!

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal Entertainment Blog called Speakeasy, the news is out as to why Mia Michaels left SYTYCD.

Mia Michaels is getting her own show… well to be exact, her own three shows. Yep, that was not a typo, three (3) shows.

One will be a choreography show, one a reality type show of a stage show and a third show that was inspired by the website “Mia Michaels, Please Choreograph My Life.”

She’s going to be real busy because she’s the showrunner for all three and she’ll be in all three.

Who ever will be in the show’s need to be on their toes because she’s bringing her own special brand of ethics to the shows. Mia envisions dancers as her tools or instruments of her visions and she molds them to exactly what she wants. Now that she’s envisioning 3 television dance shows, I’m betting she’ll apply the same intensity and focus to not only the cast, but to the crew as well to make sure that her visions are shown exactly as they need to be.

Everyone needs to bring their “A” game because laziness makes her hit the roof.

For the Mia Michaels fan, this is awesome news and we wish her the best of luck. Some of the Cinema Static crew will definitely be tuning in to catch these new shows.

Details on the new shows are still under wraps, but when they emerge, Cinema Static will let you know!
