With Kevin Harvick in his last contract year of driving for Richard Childress Racing (RCR), you have to wonder of last year’s chatter about him being unhappy and looking to leave has a different feel to it now that he’s leading in the points standings?
At least as rumors had it, he was looking to leave RCR. Is he truly lining up another ride for 2011? If so, he’s probably in the midst of negotiation right now so when 2011 rolls around, he’ll be set. Or would that negotiation just be him preparing KHI to jump into Cup racing with him behind his own wheel or another driver? I get wanting to run your own boat, I really do. It’s a bug that just won’t go away.
But what if we’ve misconstrued all the angst and it was just from having a bad year? Whether he leaves or not, right now, it looks like 2010 will be a pretty decent year for him… so far.

I’m putting all my eggs in the Harvick leaving RCR basket! Last year Harick was very terse with his critiques of RCR. In his interview towards the end of the year it was apparent to me that he had no intentions of renewing his contract after the 2010 season, time will tell.
The rumor mill has Harvick possibly going with a new team at Stewart-Haas Racing. Let me see, didn’t Tony Stewart drive and win the Natinwide race at Daytona this season in a Kevin Harvick, Inc. car??? HHHHHHMMMMMMM?
However, he has spent a lot of time trying to cultivate his Nationwide team….one never knows?
One thing is for sure ANTHING could and might possibly happen, after all this is NASCAR!
