During the Resident Evil: Afterlife panel, a few interesting things came out.
They made note that the movie was filmed using the same 3D gear that James Cameron created and used for Avatar. That means at least the 3D effects will be fine, versus post processing.
Milla Jovovich noted that she’s quite busy this year with multiple projects including an indie comedy called Greenberg, with William H. Macy, Dwight Yoakam & Mary Steenburgen. The other films she’s noted to being in are The Winter Queen, Keep Coming Back, Stone, Faces in the Crowd and Dirty Girl.
Milla Jovovich’s director husband Paul W.S. Anderson is also super busy. His projects of note are The Three Musketeers, Buck Rogers, Akula, Death Race: Frankenstein Lives & Castlevania.
Ali Larter was asked if Heroes was coming back and she seems to believe it is… but added that fans can make all the difference in asking for it.
Here’s the 2D version of Resident Evil: Afterlife: (btw: Big fan, love the franchise.)

I personally liked the first one and the sequels lesser so. This one is using quite a few old 3-D set up shots but I like the look of this one and the energy seems good. The shaft scene is way too Matrixie and what was with their aim? Shouldn’t they have been shooting at the camera not up into the shaft? If your doing an homage scene to a Matrix scene I would have thought the obligatory bullets whizzing past the camera into the audience would have been a necessary inclusion. Nice wire work. I’ve done back flips on bungee assist systems before, fun stuff.
