WonderCon logoWonderCon is coming up fast, taking place April 1st through 3rd in San Francisco at the Moscone Center South. Rooms are still available and at a reasonable price, all within an easy walk to the convention center.

As of this writing, the big events lined up for WonderCon that have caught my eye include panels for TV shows Falling Skies, Doctor Who, Terra Nova, Human Target and the new animated series ThunderCats.

Movies being represented at WonderCon (at the time of this writing*) include Warner Bros. live-action movie Green Lantern, Jon Favreau’s Cowboys & Aliens, HANNA, Priest, & Immortals.

*What’s interesting is the absence of a few highly anticipated movie panels… mainly Thor, Captain America, The Avengers, Super 8, Conan the Barbarian, The Amazing Spider-Man… and such. There are still spots on the calendar but with a week to go, it’s looking bleak for these projects showing up. Yea, yea, I want it all! What can I say.

I hope this lack of big-ticket upcoming events isn’t some sort of harbinger of this event’s future! It’s a great event that’s not as much of a frenzy as San Diego Comic-Con, while still getting some great exposure for various projects.

Here are some of the primary events taking place in the Esplanade room of the weekend:

Friday:

  • Falling Skies;
  • An Early Nikita Episode Screening;
  • Warner Bros. Green Lantern with Ryan Reynolds;
  • WORLD PREMIERE of Green Lantern: Emerald Knights Animated Original Movie;

Saturday:

  • Cowboys & Aliens (Jon Favreau, Roberto Orci);
  • Summit Entertainments The Three Musketeers;
  • HANNA (Joe Wright, Saoirse Ronan);
  • Screen Gems: Priest (Paul Bettany, Lily Collins, Scott Stewart);
  • Relativity’s Immortals (Tarsem Singh, Henry Cavill, Kellan Lutz, Luke Evans, Isabel Lucas);

Sunday:

  • Doctor Who (Neil Gaiman, Mark Sheppard, Toby Haynes, Chris Hardwick);
  • Terra Nova (Jason O’Mara, Stephen Lang, Brannon Braga, Alex Graves, Jeff “Doc” Jensen);
  • ThunderCats animated series from Cartoon Network;
  • Human Target (Mark Valley, Janet Montgomery, Matthew Miller, Geoff Boucher);
  • V video presentation (Elizabeth Mitchell);
