Despite the distinct opinion splits down the line about the movie Sucker Punch, though it didn’t do too hot domestically here in the U.S., it’s the no. 1 movie in the worldwide last weekend, pulling in $11.5M.
Just Go With It pulled in $10.9M and Battle: Los Angeles, $10.7M.
I’ve always found it fascinating that movies that perform in a mediocre fashion domestically seems to have stronger legs in the international scene.
That’s good for the studios when something pans out here, that a movie can find new life internationally.
There’s more at Box Office Mojo.

I think it’s because these movies speak the same simple language. Sucker Punch = hot girls + guns, Battle LA = marines + guns, The Expendables = action heroes + guns, Just Go With It = Adam Sandler (well, not everyone like Aniston but everybody love Sandler).
